On the official blog over at Lionhead Studios, Ted Timmins posted a quick rundown of some major news for those of you who can’t wait to venture once again into Albion.
I know I speak for everyone at Lionhead when I say that we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to, and it gives us great pleasure to let you know that you can expect Fable Anniversary to be both on-shelves and online via the Xbox Games Store in February 2014.
It’s not easy making these decisions and I know that us asking you to wait a little longer whilst we get to play test the game every day is downright unfair, so over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing with you more screenshots, more game footage and perhaps even some… top secret announcements!
With that said, it’s not an entire year’s worth of delay. As noted previous when announced, much of this effort seems to have been fueled by the Microsoft spearheaded Halo: Anniversary. It remains to be see if we can look forward to more official Anniversary remakes in the years to come. Ultimately the game is a Xbox 360 release, and fits perfectly into the previously noted 3 years of Xbox 360 content that Microsoft says they’ll support/release in order to transition to the next-gen. Here’s hoping that transition is not as sudden as 2005 when the original Xbox support was dropped.
